About Duane
Duane was born in the projects of Buffalo, New York, and has spent most of his life living in Louisville, Kentucky.
Early in his life, Duane came to a greater realization of not only the influence society exerts on us, but
also how we as individuals are a contributing factor to
the actual construction and development of our environment, as well as how we can overcome the negativity of the surroudnings we might find ourselves in.
In Louisville, Duane became
familiar with his surrounding firsthand, coming accross people from all walks of life, and gaining great insight
into the working of his society as well as his own self and its development.
He eventually decided to devote himself to creating a positive change upon his environment, and went on to develop a social
progress organization now known as the "The Awareness Project".
Over the years, Duane has received
various awards and honors from cities, mayors, organizations, and educational institutions, as well as the respect and love
of gang members, their families, the poor and oppressed, and
a host of others searching for the development of their own inner strength.
But to him, more important
than any of these accolades, is the reality that he has compromised and worked with, but have never sold out, or given up
any of his spiritual integrity or the sincerity of his inner being.
In late 2006, Duane's first book, Inner Strength Defies the Skeptic , was released through Immediex Publishing.
